We have been watching a lot of Winni the Pooh, Jack too is finding his love for honey...

Yes, this is my swim suit and John's camo hat, Jack's dressing himself these days...

Jack has had a pretty rough week, falling over in his high chair, and then in the buggy, this is a result of the buggy :( Close to the sadest picture of him i've ever seen. He's also kinda sick...
Enjoying my double bob, love it :)!

5 weeks

Nellie, 5 weeks old

I can't believe 5 weeks ago yesterday our sweet little Nellie joined our family. I seriously love her so much. It is crazy how much love you can have for your kids. Nothing they do can make you love them less. I feel so blessed to have her in my life.

Nellie is starting (i think) to try to smile awake. Today she looked like she was trying so hard and i'd get these little half smiles, they were so sweet. She is also the strongest little 5 week old that i know! She holds her head up like a champ. If i hold just her hands she'll stand up and hold her head up, its so cute, i've got to get a picture, but i'm going to need some help from John for that.

Its been a good five weeks, lots of sleepless nights but lots of tender mercies. I just feel so blessed.

I'm so glad Jack too loves his little sister

following the crowd...

Well i did it. I broke down and just did it.
What you may ask?
Zumba.
My conclusions?
I've got to keep going.
Why?
Because I. Can't. Dance.
Was i embarrassed?
No, you should have seen the girl next to me...hahaha

So i guess i should have figured this all out a lot sooner when i was dancing one day in the kitchen (was i really in the kitchen? I can't remember but isn't that where housewives are supposed to dance?) Anyway....i was dancing... when my husband walked in and told me that my dancing reminds him of Dallin Olson...hmmmm...wasn't sure how to take that. Now i realize it meant i better start frequenting zumba.

Watch out John, soon i will be a booty shaking, shoulder shimmying (is that a word?), crazy jumping dancing machine. Wish me luck (i'll need it)

I tried to use the buggy as a time-out because Jack can't really get out, but he ended up loving it and now climbs into it whenever he can....

daddy/daughter time, so sweet.

To sling, or not to sling...

So i have a sling, its actually a Maya Wrap, I've loved it, Jack's loved it but Nellie? Not so much...
Okay, in this picture she appears to love it, but this is after 45 min's of back arching screaming til she wore herself out enough to fall asleep....

But here's the problem, she's so different from Jack in that she wants to be held constantly, i think she's a bit colicky and her tummy is hurting her quite a bit :( So i want to hold her and love her and help her feel better, but i also want to be able to still do things and play with Jack etc..., and since she seems to hate the sling, i've been thinking maybe she'd like the Moby Wrap better, but i don't want to buy it before i try it, so if anybody out there (close by) has one that they wouldn't mind letting me test drive, please let me know! Thanks!

Swimming

We took Jack swimming and he absolutely loved it! We hadn't been since last summer so for some reason at first he was a little concerned about it (picture below)
But he got used to it really fast
His favorite was going down this huge slide

Nellie and i just hung out and watched....
Except for the time that John had a brilliant idea...he thought we should send Jack down a smaller slide by himself and John just wanted me to be at the bottom. Well at the bottom it was a bit deeper than we thought and  i had to grab Jack so he wouldn't go under. I got a little wet...what can i say, my sons a little more important to me than wet clothes...John wanted to take a pic
I LOVE when John has days off of work. This was last Tuesday, and he had another one yesterday! Awesome, soon i'll post about what we did on Saturday's day off...its sorta exciting :)

really?

I came out from cleaning up breakfast to find this....my 2 favorite boys in the whole world sipping green drinks, watching....hunting videos made in the 1950s....seriously???

Anyway, life is great. Jack is getting so big and loves his little sister so much. He's always giving her kisses (on the head) and likes to hold her...he lasts a whole 3 seconds...on a good day :) Nellie is so sweet but wants to be held all. the. time. We always wondered how different newborns are, and how if we'd be able to see personality so young but i'm telling you that you sure can. Nellie and Jack have been so different so far. All i have to say is thank goodness for nice weather...its the only thing thats keeping me sane, that and John's days off....

Did i mention i love my two kids? Well i do...just so you know :)

Pictures

Here's some random cute pictures of our kids. We feel so blessed to have them, they make us smile everyday

(For those of you that haven't seen it yet, this is Jack telling you how old he is)

just gotta love our little ones... I think we're finally getting into the swing of things....thank goodness :)

V-Day at our house

Since i'm still not used to this 2 kid mothering stuff my mom came back for a couple of days on Valentines to help out. She brought Sim and Deb, so nice to have their help! And we had a blast!
Since Sim's birthday is on  Valentines we celebrated :) Thanks Sim for having a birthday so we could have that amazing cake! So yummy...

The weather had been BEAUTIFUL, so we went to the park and played, it was so so nice to get out

My cute mom posing for the camera :)

Jack LOVES slides, he's so brave

Thanks for the fun you guys, its so great to have people to play with Jack while i take care of Nellie, thanks again, love you!

P.S. Grandma, in the post below, Nellie is the one without the bow in her hair or the blanket around her. She's on the left and looks like i did....

Friends

We've had lots and lots of visitors since Nellie arrived, some we got pictures of, some we did not, but all of them we appreciate and love. Thanks everyone for caring about our little family!
Aunt Kristen, what a great multi-tasker:)

Jack and Jackson will be best buds, especially when Jackson starts dating Jack's little sister Nellie :)
The Carter's came for a few days and we LOVED having them here, we miss our old neighbors! Jack wanted to hold Jackson...LOL, they practically the same size :)

Nellie had a cousin born just 2 weeks after her, Nautal and her will be the best of friends :)
This was the first of 3 cousins that will be way close in age yo Nellie, lucky girl!

Lastly, our friends the Bahrs, they had sweet little Paisley 5 days before Nellie came! So glad they came to visit too!

Nellie Marie

Finally! I'm blogging about our precious little girl. She's

She had aspirated some fluid and wasn't breathing very well on her own for the first little while, I couldn't hold her while they were working on her. I was across the room watching, (getting stitched), wishing i could hold cuddle my baby when my mom got a picture of this and came to show me.

She just wanted to let me know i guess, it was just what I needed.
 We love this little girl
She was hooked to all sorts of cords that first day and we weren't able to hold her for a while
But when we finally got to, it was worth waiting for

Jack couldn't meet his new little sister until her second day of life, but it was sure sweet when he did. He loves his sister.

One happy family

She was a feisty little thing and has been doing great ever since those first few hours. We took her home Friday and have been enjoying her ever since.
