Day after Christmas

Dec 26, 2010: Emily's farewell. I can't believe she's leaving so soon, she did such a great job and i really am going to miss her. She will be a wonderful missionary though, so i can't help but be excited for her too.

Christmas, New Camera.... Catch-up

Just a warning, i got a new camera for Christmas and I LOVE IT! So, there are going to be a lot of pictures :) We had a great Christmas spent with family. Christmas morning, after John and Jordan slept in the Christmas fort, we ran over to Manti to open gifts etc, thats where i got the camera and while we were there is was charging the whole time so we have no pictures of the Olsens. Then we headed back to Ephraim to open with them. We love this time of year and were so glad we got to be together. Here's some pictures of what we did

We moved!

Yes, thats probably old news to everybody by now but today, after almost 2 weeks of being here, we FINALLY got the internet again :) Its about time i say. I'm glad to have it, but i got on earlier because i was so excited and i couldn't think of anything i needed to do...oh well. Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know we're alive, but we'll be leaving tomorrow for our Christmas!

So.... MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful, happy, and merry Christmas

Snow!

Yesterday was our first real snow this year. It was also Jack's first real experience with it. It was first thing in the morning and he was dying to go out. So I just stuck gloves on him and a hat so he could check it out...looks like i should have got him into all of his snow gear with how covered he got...I think he loved it. Although, he didn't really like being whitewashed...

Right now i love snow. Its so beautiful and peaceful, can't wait for a little more because yesterday, we bought a sled and tomorrow we hope to test it out :)

Family weekend

These 4 people are the reason we headed south for the weekend. G-ma and Pa P were in town from their mission in Nauvoo so we celebrated Thanksgiving early with them. Peter was also speaking in church on Sunday before we leaves tomorrow. It was good to see and be with the grandparents and Peter did such a great job on Sunday, he's so excited to get out of here and serve the Lord that its hard to think much about missing him. He's going to be a great missionary. I'm so grateful for the example of my siblings, they really are the greatest, i love watching them grow and move on in their lives. Soon Emily will be leaving too, i just can't believe it

 And this wonderful man is the one that told me i look ready to pop, and "aren't you due like tomorrow?" Well if I look like i'm due tomorrow, what does that make him???

Last night i had to make a run to the store. Jack wanted to bring he bear. He held it like this the entire time. I had to snap a pic

first black eye

Ever since Jack's learned how to stand up, he has tried to stand up in the tub, we're always telling him to sit down but this is one concept that he just won't learn, anyway, last Saturday he slipped and fell and hit his upper cheek on the side of the tub and every day since, the bruise just keeps spreading. I've felt really bad about it everytime i look at him but he didn't and doesn't seem to bother him.

I've been trying to get a good real picture of this ever since it happened but mostly i've been unsuccessful, so here'a  few from my phone

I hate it when he gets hurt, like really hurt, but i think he just might have learned his lesson, and thats probably a good thing.

Good times

Here's my 2 boys on halloween, Jack was a lion (he reminds me most of the one on the Wizard of Oz) And John had to dress up for work, he was very creative with his costume and was a hippie, thanks Olsen's for the ugliest tie dye shirt in the history of Tie Dye! It made a great costume!

After John left and Jack saw the bandana tied around his head he had to have it too, lol so cute

And i just HAD to add this picture, its something i Finally captured on camera, its the way John washes Jack up after a meal, this is the way he's always done it and probably always will, lol I just can't believe Jack lets him! He doesn't seem to mind at all....I love my boys

SLRs

I know i'm on a blogging kick. I'm just looking into getting a new digital SLR camera. But i need advice, Canon, or Nikon? I'm looking at the Canon Rebel T1i or the Nikon D5000 or the D3100. If anybody has any advice it'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The Windcaves (picture overload)

Yesterday we decided to hike to the windcaves, we figured after 2 years of living here it was about time. It was fun and really cool

 It doesn't look like it in these first pictures but Jack really did love being in the back pack and being able to check everything out, so fun :)

 See that snowball in his hands? He did NOT want to get rid of it, after it started melting too much we took it from him and he wasn't a happy camper, oh well, he got over it :)

 He love hitting his dad in the head with a stick, who wouldn't love doing that?

 And then we made it! They really are pretty cool, we had no idea how big they were!

Jack was pretty excited just to be able to sit and walk around after the long hike stuck in the backpack.

 (I love how when he picks things up it looks like he's doing a grab on a snowboard, so funny, so much like his dad :))

A pretty view, i was sad we missed most of the fall leaves, they've mostly fallen off the trees by now and been soaked in that last rain storm we had, but it was still beautiful!

John and i both agree that being outside is VERY therapeutic, we love it! So glad John had a couple of days off work to relax and hang out with us! I'm so grateful for all he does for us, but sometimes i just miss him, it was so good to have him home!
