John's latest obbsession....

Well, John's been obsessed with lots of things in the past, for a while it was sharpening knives and he's actually gotten really good at it (I used to catch him watching you-tube vidoes on how to do it). But his latest obsession is his new traditional bow he got for Christmas. He LOVES shooting it. He used to shoot it in our front yard into a pumpkin from Halloween but then it got too mushy...this brought about a very creative side of my husband that i haven't seen very often...

John decided to make a new target, he got boxes from Macey's that they didn't need anymore and brought them home to make his very own deer target. So now he can shoot his bow whenever, wherever but his favoite thing to do is take it in the back yard, (below-where those beautiful trees are is the Logan river) find ducks and try to shoot them. It's probably a good thing that he hasn't yet actually hit any (although he's been pretty close) but i told him that next time he wants to go, i'll go with him and take some bread to feed the ducks and lure them in (why don't guys think of this???). LOL, he says that if i can feed these ducks that he's been trying to sneak up on and shoot he'll break his bow and never hunt again hahaha, i know he really wouldn't do that and i don't want him to but i do think he'd be pretty funny if these ducks that he's been chasing are actually the tame ones that everybody feeds on the golf course and the logan river parkway, we'll see and i'll let you know!Hopefully John's next obsession will be getting his truck fixed! I can't wait to have that thing working again, it'll be so fun to be able to go in the mountains again! We miss that. I Love John's truck. Its the truck we dated in, its the truck that John has always loved so much, there are so many memories in that truck, i hope it'll be around for a long time. It really is fun for me to just see it because its the truck i always watched (and listened) for that meant John was here! So even though our car doesn't yet fit in the garage again i don't mind too much, i'm glad his truck is finally here and someday it will run again :)

Pampered Chef Party

Embarrassing moments...

So, my father-in-law's been giving me a hard time because i don't post enough! So i'm trying to catch up, as i was looking at one of my friends blog she had blogged about embarrassing moments...This blog reminded me about last Saturday.... so i thought i'd share. Okay, so we're at a friends house up in Saratoga Springs and all the guys were standing around in the kitchen. Notice the Shirt John is wearing in the post previous this one, it's brown, thermalish and long sleeve. Well, John happened to be wearing this exact shirt last Saturday, so as i came into the kitchen, i put my arm through this brown, long-sleeve, thermalish sleeved arm and kinda leaned up against him. Well, next thing i know someone, whose voice i don't really recognize says "Elise, i think you've got the wrong guy." Wow, i'd tried to cuddle up to somebody else's husband wearing a brown, long sleeve, thermalish shirt. Super embarrassing, until Saturday i can't even remember the last time my face went bright red but it sure did that day... Hey, at least i gave everyone a good laugh huh?

Thank you all for your comments and input! I appreciate it, i'm pretty sure that me staying a brunette actually won in votes, but since my husbands vote is the most important and he wants his blonde girlfriend back, i'm going to go back to blonde :) I'm actually way excited about it because i feel like blonde is me, its what my hair color would really be if i still had hair, so, even through it may look better on John, its going to be the new me.... Not yet, but sometime soon ;)

Finally! A Sunday Afternoon

John and i decided to go on a walk. We went to the walkway by the river but it was pretty cold, we weren't sure how far we'd want to go so first we stayed in the sun and balanced on the railroad tracks. After that we were pretty warmed up from balancing so we kept going down the trail...

Next we came to this, and balanced across.... I guess we were feeling pretty confident with our balancing skills because when we saw this:

I jokingly said "Lets balance across that". Well John doesn't do well with reading me because he took the challenge seriously, and after he started i couldn't back down so we did it, and we didn't even fall in!
It was pretty intense, probably the stupidest thing we've ever done together, but it sure was invigorating! And i'm sure the fall into the ice cold water would have been invigorating too!

Happy 2009!

Wow! I can't believe its 2009, thats going to take some getting used to, and starting school tomorrow...crazy. One more semester left for me though! I think i can handle it. I'm actually excited to be starting a new year, i always feel like a new year brings a clean slate and now i have another opportunity to change for the better. 2009 will be a great year! Happy New Year to all! Good luck with your resolutions, i know we all need it!

Christmas! Dinners! Snow Boarding! Sunsets! and NO MORE WAITING!

2 weeks ago John and I were asked to speak in sacrament meeting, that same day i had to teach Young Womens too, it was a crazy weekend, and i was very stressed, but so relieved when it was over. Our computer had a virus so we didn't get to use it as a source, we just had to use all the books as references but it ended up being great.

Emily, Peter, and John and I went snowboarding at brighton on the food pantry day for $15 and a bag of canned foods. It was a blast, but it sure was cold that that day, the sun was out but the wind was blowing, good times....
I made this spagetti squash spagetti for dinner a few nights ago and it was amazing! We loved it, and i wish i took a picture while the salad was still on the plate, it was gorgeous ;).

We went to John's family Thomas Christmas Party last weekend in Provo and this was the drive up, it was a beautiful sunset (you really can't tell in the picture but it was). The party was fun, it was fun to be with family because it had been a while.

And we're sure not waiting for snow any longer! We keep getting dumped on. After Christmas we came home to 8 new inches of snow, it was wild and we couldn't even get into our driveway because of the snow plow. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Christmas was awesome, we spent Christmas eve with John's family in Ephriam, Christmas morning with mine, then Christmas morning with John's (They wake up later then mine do) and then the rest of Christmas day with mine until that night and then we headed back to John's house. It was fun to be with everyone, although jumping back and forth got a little old, i think next time, we'll just spend more time with one of them and then switch off years.

For Christmas i got snow boots from my mom and a pair from John (thats the only thing i could think of that i wanted) i got decorations for our house from John parents which i love ;) and my mom made the cutest aprons for all of us girls, there's a picture of debbie in her's down here somewhere.....John also got me the most beautiful picture of the Manti temple which he and a friend made, I love it! John got a sleeping bag, bullets, beanie, money, a flashlight, a couple movies and i gave him a recurve bow and snow pants.

Peter got mostly clothes i think, and Dane got this awesome Ripstick, we've been riding it all week.
Christmas night we headed over to Jay and Lauries for a potluck dinner with the Pili's who came to visit. It was fun to see them!

Anyway, there's a little catch up of us, i'm so grateful for family! We love them all so much and it was so good to be home and with family. Merry Christmas everyone! And a happy New Year!

We're still waiting....

We're still waiting for the winter wonderland outside but on the inside it sure does look like Christmas! I've been decorating and i think i've finally figured out my style of decor, its Christmas! I love the way it looks and i love the colors, so my house is going to look just like i want it to for at least 1 month of the year ;). Here's some pic's...our front room!(Above)

I also finally got some stuff on my built in shelf, its about time. I guess these are some new pictures for most that haven't been to our house, but we love it! It's been so perfect for us. I love this time of year, everyone just seems happier, Merry Christmas!!!!

Just a few

Hey! Welcome home Grandpa and Grandma! We went to meet G-pa and ma on Wednesday at the airport, it was so fun to see them and for them to be back! Here's some pic's! Here's them relaxing as much as possible at Kristens beautiful new home after their long trip!
And here is a picture of my newest Christmas Decorations! I like them, and they were fun to make but didn't quite turn out the way i'd planned.... oh well though! They match the rest of my Christmas stuff....now i just have to be patient til i can decorate!

Crafty....

Hey! So you guys all know that i'm on this decorating kick, so i saw a picture of these really cute christmas decorations (painted, antiqued, picture frames that have colors and stuff on the inside). They were super cute so i went and bought a few little pictures frames for cheap and painted them today. Thats as far as i've gotton, but i thought it would be so fun if us Logan girls got together on saturdays (while John's at work) and make different cool things. Let me know if anyone whats to be crafty with me ;)!

Happy Halloween!!!

Halloween was a blast, John and I still aren't very good at the whole creative, dress up part, so for this year, John was the farmer, and i was the farmers wife. It was kinda cool, but what was way cool was John "Sweet" belt buckle, it says on it "should-a bin a cowboy" in a hick kinda way. John made it all by himself ;) And me, i just look for any opportunity to wear my sweet apron, and it seemed to fit the part!

Some of our neighbors had a party that we went to, and at the party we had all kinds of famous people, We had Dash.....

And we even had Edward Cullen......and his Witch Wife ;)
